Where to stay

Keep the group inside the postcard

Book in or near Old Québec. Saving a little on the room is less charming when everyone is hailing cars in a snowstorm.

Warm tables, cold noses

The delicious part of the plan

Three real Québec City stops, each chosen for a different moment of the weekend.

The no-nonsense packing list

Cute coat. Serious boots.

Québec City winter is real winter. The winning outfit is warm, windproof and easy to peel off the second you enter a restaurant heated like July.

Québec City Winter Trip FAQs

Should we visit Québec City in January or during Winter Carnival?

Choose January for a quieter snow-globe weekend and the Ice Hotel without Carnival crowds. Choose February 5–14, 2027 for Bonhomme, parades, outdoor events, and the city's biggest winter energy.

How cold is Québec City in winter?

It is genuinely cold, with snow, wind, and icy cobblestones. Pack an insulated coat, waterproof boots with traction, warm base layers, mittens, and a portable charger for batteries that dislike winter.

Do you need a car for a Québec City winter weekend?

Not if you stay in or near Old Québec. Walk the historic core and use taxis, rideshares, or a booked transfer for places such as the Ice Hotel or Strøm Spa.

How many days do you need in Québec City in winter?

Three nights gives you one full city day, one signature winter experience, a spa or slow meal, and enough flexibility for weather without overpacking the itinerary.
