In Part 1 we compared the vibe, the food and the shopping — Charleston edged ahead on dining while Savannah held strong on atmosphere. Now it's time for the fun part: nightlife, ghost stories, beaches and how easy each city is to explore on foot.
Daytime charm is one thing. But a girls' trip is often made (or gently derailed) after sunset — so let's see which city delivers the better night out, the spookier legends and the easier beach day.

Savannah on foot
Savannah's Historic District is compact and particularly pleasant to explore on foot. Its interconnected squares naturally break up longer walks, providing shade, benches and frequent opportunities for photos.
Charleston on foot
Charleston's historic peninsula is also walkable, especially around King Street, the French Quarter, City Market and South of Broad. However, attractions and restaurants can feel more spread out, and trips to the beaches require a car or rideshare.
Cobblestones and uneven sidewalks exist in both cities, so this is not the weekend to break in ambitious new shoes. Cute sneakers are not surrender; they are strategy.
