A NO-CHAOS ITINERARY
Check into Newport, unpack the one outfit everyone overthought, then stroll the waterfront. Book seafood and sunset views at The Mooring—or dress up for Castle Hill Inn's lawn.
Start with the Cliff Walk before the crowds, tour The Breakers, then leave room for Thames Street browsing. Finish with a sail, rooftop cocktail or a long dinner where no one checks the time.
Head to Providence for brunch, art and Federal Hill—or drive south for Watch Hill and beach-town polish. Block Island deserves its own overnight; don't wedge it into a rushed Sunday.

Providence is train-friendly. For Newport plus South County, a car makes life easier. In peak Newport, park once and walk whenever you can.
Ferry routes and frequency change by season. Reserve early, confirm the departure port and build breathing room into the return trip.
