The Food & Wine Girls' Weekend

Ditch the stroller crowd and graze your way around the world — spa mornings, a monorail bar crawl, and rooftop dinners under the fireworks. Disney, styled just for the girls.

The Concept

Here's a little secret the parenting years kept from you: Disney is even better without the kids. No 6 a.m. rope drop, no meltdowns in the sun, no splitting a churro four ways. Just you, your favorite women, and a weekend built entirely around what you want — which, let's be honest, is a great glass of wine, a spa robe, a rooftop with a fireworks view, and the kind of belly laughs you only get with the friends who knew you back when.

The trick is timing it to the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival (running August 27 through November 21, 2026), when World Showcase turns into one glorious open-air tasting menu. You'll sip your way from France to Japan, catch a live “Eat to the Beat” concert, and cap the night with a signature dinner high above the Magic Kingdom. This isn't a theme-park slog — it's a girls' weekend that just happens to come with a little pixie dust.

Getting There

Fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) — it's about 30–40 minutes from the Disney resorts, and nearly every major airline flies in direct. Book a car service or grab a rideshare straight to your hotel; once you're on property, Disney's monorail, Skyliner, boats, and buses can carry you everywhere car-free, so nobody has to be the designated driver. Pro tip: fly in on a weekday afternoon and you'll dodge the worst of the crowds and the fares.

Where to Stay

The Icon: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

The grande dame of Disney hotels — all white Victorian gingerbread, live piano in the lobby, and the flagship Senses Spa right on property. It's a straight monorail hop to the Magic Kingdom and to the resort bar crawl, and the Enchanted Rose lounge here is a Beauty and the Beast-inspired stunner. If you're going to do Disney grown-up, do it here.

The Chic One: Disney's Riviera Resort

Disney's love letter to the European Riviera — refined, grown-up, and blissfully calmer than the classic resorts. The rooftop restaurant Topolino's Terrace is one of the best tables on property, and the Skyliner glides you straight to EPCOT's back door, so you're minutes from the Food & Wine booths. Sophisticated without trying too hard.

The Lively One: Disney's BoardWalk Inn

For the girls who want the nightlife on their doorstep. This 1930s Atlantic-seaboard charmer sits on a buzzy waterfront promenade with Jellyrolls — a rowdy, hilarious dueling-piano bar — steps from your room. You can walk to EPCOT (hello, Food & Wine) in about 10 minutes. Come for the location, stay for the late-night sing-alongs.

The Grown-Up Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive & Ease In at Disney Springs

Land, check in, drop the bags, and don't overthink the first night — you're saving your energy. Head to Disney Springs for a low-key, no-park-ticket-required evening of shopping and sipping.

  • Evening: Toast the trip at Wine Bar George — the only Master Sommelier–led spot on property — then browse the boutiques. Still hungry? The Edison serves cocktails in a gorgeously theatrical industrial-Gothic setting, and Enzo's Hideaway is a speakeasy-style Italian tunnel bar worth the hunt.

Day 2: Eat & Drink Around the World at EPCOT

This is the main event. Spend the day grazing your way through the EPCOT World Showcase, where 30-plus Food & Wine Festival marketplaces turn a walk around the lagoon into a progressive tasting menu.

  • Morning: Start light — coffee and a pastry — because the real eating starts at the booths. Grab a Passport and pace yourselves from country to country: small plates, sipping flights, and that famous frozen French slush.
  • Afternoon: Graze and sip your way around the lagoon, ducking into the pavilions to shop. Split everything; try everything. Catch the “Eat to the Beat” concert at the America Gardens Theatre — the 2026 lineup leans '90s and early-2000s, so expect a full-throated sing-along.
  • Evening: Book a proper dinner up top at Topolino's Terrace, then close the night watching the fireworks reflect off the water.

Day 3: Spa Morning & a Monorail Bar Crawl

You've earned a slow morning. Today is about pampering, poolside lounging, and a legendary Disney tradition the kids never knew existed.

  • Morning: Robes on at Senses – A Disney Spa at the Grand Floridian — massages, facials, and a relaxation lounge made for lingering. Follow it with a long, lazy poolside afternoon.
  • Afternoon: Do the Monorail Bar Crawl: start with a craft cocktail at Enchanted Rose (Grand Floridian), hop the monorail to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto (Polynesian) for the tiki theatrics, then ride on to the Top of the World Lounge (Contemporary) for skyline views.
  • Evening: Dinner with a view at California Grill, timed so the Magic Kingdom fireworks go off right outside the window. If you want to go all-out one night, the tasting menu at Victoria & Albert's is Disney's crown-jewel fine-dining splurge (dress up — it's earned).

Day 4: A Little Nostalgia, Then Home

Don't leave without one hit of the classic magic. Head to the Magic Kingdom for a leisurely morning — ride the ones that made you fall in love with the place, no rush, no agenda.

  • Morning: A relaxed breakfast, then a few nostalgic favorites — the Haunted Mansion, Pirates, a spin on the carousel purely for the photo. Grab a Dole Whip and be shameless about it.
  • Afternoon: One last stroll down Main Street for souvenirs, then head back to MCO in time for an easy flight home — full, happy, and already plotting the next one.

What to Pack — The Grown-Up Disney Edit

You're doing parks by day and rooftops by night, in Florida humidity, so the whole game is comfortable-but-cute and layers you can shed. Pack with intention:

  • Broken-in cute sneakers — you'll walk 15,000+ steps a day and blisters ruin the magic
  • A crossbody or belt bag — hands-free for grazing and sipping
  • One dressier outfit for signature dinners (jackets/dresses for Victoria & Albert's)
  • A packable poncho or compact umbrella — Florida afternoon showers are a given
  • A refillable water bottle — hydration between the tasting flights
  • A wide-brim hat & reef-safe SPF — the sun is no joke in World Showcase
  • A light wrap or cardigan — for over-air-conditioned restaurants and cool evenings

The GGC Bottom Line

You spent years making the magic happen for everyone else. This is the trip where the magic is for you — served with a chilled glass of something lovely and zero itinerary you didn't choose. Round up the women who make you laugh until you can't breathe, time it to Food & Wine, and go remember what it feels like to be delighted. The mouse doesn't care how old you are. Neither should you.
